About Lenore McIntyre
A virtuoso violinist and enthusiastic leader, Lenore McIntyre has been performing and concertizing since the tender age of six years old. Born in Minneapolis and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, in a family of musicians, she is the daughter of the esteemed Canadian Professor/composer Dr. Paul McIntyre.
Private studies at the University of Michigan, Cleveland Institute and Interlochen molded her into a brilliant young violinist and she eventually was awarded a scholarship to the University of Toronto. She graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Music in Performance.
Lenore has a natural love and passion for music that is reflected by her time working with great orchestras and conductors around the world. She has toured Europe with the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival Orchestra playing in Berlin, Dresden, Vienna, Rome, Seville and Southern France. During this time she worked with world renown conductors Loren Maazel, Mstislov Rostropovich, Valerie Gergiev, and Chistoph Eschenbach. She was then invited to tour with a German Chamber Orchestra to England, the Canary Islands, Portugal, Spain and northern Germany.
Much additional experience has been gained working with orchestras in Canada and the U.S.A. These include; The National Ballet of Canada, Jeunnes Virtuoses de Montreal, The Florida Philharmonic, The Gold Coast Opera, Ft. Lauderdale, and The Indiana Symphony. Most recently Lenore was invited to play a series of concerts with the Thunder Bay Symphony, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lenore has also worked with The Civic Orchestra of Chicago under conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. She was also awarded a Fellowship at DePaul University, which allowed her to pursue Graduate Studies in Music. In addition, she has toured the Eastern and Western United States on separate occasions; as violinist in The American Rhapsody Tour (Music Theater) featuring the music of George Gershwin, and with the famous Mantovani Orchestra.
Since becoming a recognized figure on the Chicago music scene, Ms. McIntyre has expanded her playing style even more playing pop, jazz , swing and R&B with the unique addition of violinists to the big band scene. She has been seen playing with some of the top special events orchestras in Chicago.
Although she enjoys the variety of work with many different groups, The
Bradley Young Orchestra™ is her first choice as one of the premiere party bands in the nation. She presently serves as principal violinist and contractor and is also founding member of The
Monte Carlo Strings, a group that just completed their first CD and is currently providing high caliber chamber music for the finest special events in Chicago and L.A.
